Their daughter, Austin designer and owner of James Showroom, Meredith Ellis, helped update her parent’s Fredericksburg farm style home with fresh and bold fabrics to complement their antiques. It feels so fresh, comfortable and collected. My favorite!

My graduation gift to myself was to get away and spend a week with other artists on Cumberland Island, Georgia, with Pigs Fly Retreats, hosted by my dear friends and fine art photographers Lori Vrba and Anne Berry. The island is rich with history, wild horses, moss covered oaks and the ruins of historical mansions that once belonged to the Carnegie family.Read More
I didn't prune my shrub roses this spring. Time got away and before I knew it the stems were loaded with new buds. My absent minded neglect didn't seem to effect the blooms one bit and the bushes offered up a bumper crop.Read More
