Support Your Local Bees

My routine errands take me past a handful of independently owned roadside stands that I've never visited until recently. I've been missing out.

Greg's Beehive on Highway 6 @ Huffmeister.  Open Tuesday-Sunday. Honey is from A.C.'s bees in Spring, TX

Ruby's Taqueria on Huffmeister just south of Hwy 290. Always open!

Next door to Ruby's Taqueria. Debbie's Garden & Farmers Market sells local produce,  grass fed beef and herbs.

I hope you enjoy your long weekend and find something special off the beaten path.  These images are from my new instagram account...follow along there with my username curiousdetails.

I am so happy to have found this. Thank you for your posting. I purchased some honey from ACs Bees about a year ago I believe. But he was on the corner of Shepard and 34th. I have driven past there many only to find that he's no longer set up there. It has saddened me to see him gone. I'm excited to see that he is here in Cypress just down the road from me. Thanks again. :)

PS, Ruby's has the BEST Mexican Food on the Planet!!! I've eaten there many, many times.

  2. Last year about this time I purchased a pint of local honey for $150. (I was saving this announcement for a blog post - I will still write...)

We had a swarm move into our garden waste can and to kill them was $150 or more. When I finally found someone to rescue my swarm he charged $150. But gave me a pint of honey as my "free" gift.

Please do not kill any honey bees - we need them for fruits, vegetables, flowers, AND HONEY!

    Cheers!
